Gordon Bruce
|
|
|
Gordon Bruce, Knockdhu Distillery Manager Gordon Bruce was born and raised in
the village of Wick, 500 meters from Pulteney distillery where he began his
career whiskey.
He has had a long successful career in the industry and may this year be pleased
that his 21-year-old Old Pulteney is the world's best whiskey as Jim Murray.
According to Gordon's quality, joy and simplicity of the foundations of a good
whiskey. When it comes to quality, you should assume that all elements of
production can be improved. And if you no longer find joy in their work so the
quality will eventually suffer. As for simplicity as Gordon explains the
following: "There Is father too much bullshit attached to the product and
Industry. Keep it simple and do it well. "

I am a Swedish west coast girl who has lived in Scotland since 1997. I have
worked on the Spring Bank since January 2010 and must pinch myself every morning
to see if I still dreaming or if it is real! I am one of two people responsible
for the Spring Bank sales around the world, this means that I spend much time on
the road. I like to travel and meet new people and I enjoy whiskey in all its
forms. I´ve landed my dream job here at Springbank.
My background is an Honors degree in brewing and distilling from Heriot Watt
University, and I have worked in the whiskey industry in various forms since
2005.
When I got the job at Spring Bank, I moved from Edinburgh to Campbeltown, it was
hard to leave Edinburgh after 13 years but the people here at Springbank and in
Campbeltown and has really stood up for me. I´m very happy and have a
interesting 2012 in front of me, flying to exciting new places and many new and
old Goings to be released from Springbank!

The glenlivet |
As Guardian Of The Glenlivet, you are welcome to a culinary whiskey tasting with
Brand Ambassador Joel Katzenstein.
We will try a number of dishes matched with The Glenlivet. The dishes are
designed together with Pernod Ricard´s chefs have created a food and whiskey
trip where meals and whiskeys paired to give you a rarely perceived taste
sensation.
Oysters makes the 12-year-old into a real tough guy. Salmon makes Nàdurra to
shine, the whiskey flowing with seductive citrus. A little water in the glass
resulting a soft tune with Svecia cheese. 18-year-old also likes cheese. Blue
cheese makes whiskey soft and casual, goat cheese makes the hot-headed powerful.
Cinnamon bun, taco elicits exceedingly sherry in 21-year-old, a wonderful good
combination.
We will also try a sort that is not in the ordinary range.
To participate, you must be a member of The Glenlivet Guardian. Become a
member by visiting our booth or visit:

Susan Colville |
Wemyss Malts |
Susan Colville has really whiskey in the blood. Not
because she drinks much but because she grew up in Rothes, right in Speyside,
with a father who worked in Glenrothes. After studies at Robert Gordon
University in Aberdeen, she works as a brand ambassador for including Douglas
Laing & Co., A. Dewar Rattray and now for Wemyss Malts. Since she is married by
Donald Colville, who is Brand Ambassador for Diageo, it is obviously that Whisky
is a natural topic of conversation.
Wemyss has focused on taste and smell by naming their
products after its flavor instead of the distillery.

Robert Ransom
Robert Ransom, Director of Sales & Marketing
www.glenfarclas.co.uk
Robert Ransom, originally from
the Perthshire village of Lochearnhead, first tasted
Glenfarclas '105' whilst studying at the University of
Aberdeen. That first dram of Cask Strength ‘105’ was a
revelation, and would eventually lead Robert to Speyside, to
work for the Glenfarclas Distillery, renowned for producing
traditional Speyside style malt whisky with a heavy sherry
influence. Prior to joining Glenfarclas in May 2004, Robert
worked for six years in the food industry.
Based at the distillery, one of Robert’s first tasks on
joining the company was to revive the packaging of Glenfarclas 15 Years Old.
More recently Robert developed and launched The Family
Casks, a unique collection of single cask malt whisky from Glenfarclas, with at
least one cask bottled for every year from 1952 to 1995.
|
|
Robert travels
extensively as a Brand Ambassador, hosting tastings across
Asia, Europe and Scandinavia, and with 2011 marking the
175th anniversary of the distillery, Robert looks forward to
introducing guests to Glenfarclas. Robert enjoys living and
working in Speyside, and keen to encourage others to visit
the home of malt whisky, served as a director of the Spirit
